In this here post, I am giving you 10 Things you can Do to Boost your Self-Love! here’s why,
Do you realize how amazing you are? Most of us, when we think of ourselves,
Amazing is not the first thought or descriptor we would choose. And this is me, kind of grabbing your shoulders, bringing you in front of the mirror, and saying,
YES, YOU ARE AMAZING!
You are beautiful, intelligent, and nothing short of phenomenal.
For so many of us one of the most difficult things is seeing ourselves as intelligent, smart, creative, fun, courageous and a host of. All the other beautiful descriptions we so readily use to compliment other people. Yet, we don’t see our own magic.
I am here to tell you, let’s stop that. STOP forgetting yourself! STOP believing or thinking that you do not matter. I want you to start doing a few things that I feel will be absolutely beneficial to you, for your confidence, self-esteem, self-care, and empowerment. I will join you on this also. The entire Honor Your Essence family will join you!
For the next 21 days, we are going to do several things. (Let’s call this the self-love challenge)
and yes, I am challenging you.
- Start your day with positive affirmations (I’ve included some free printables you can put those affirmation cards anywhere, like a mirror where you’ll see it in the morning)
- Start a gratitude journal (Everyday list at least five things you’re grateful for you can write it as a list or as a journal entry format)
- Take 10-15 min a day to just sit quietly and breathe ( you can listen to solfeggio tones or binaural beats and light some incense, scented candle whatever works for you)
- Do something every day that makes you feel good. write in a journal, get a mani-pedi, dance, listen to music, get yourself some flowers, treat yourself to something! Even if it’s just watching a comedy and laughing your butt off! (Laughter is healing)
- Create a list of 3-5 realistic goals you want to accomplish this month.
- Assess your surroundings/ environment. How do you feel about it? How does it make you feel? Does it inspire you, motivate you? How about the people you associate with daily, do they inspire and/or motivate you?
- Let’s give up one bad habit we have that isn’t in our best interest or isn’t conducive to a healthier life. (For me it was second-guessing myself)
- Take a long hot bath, put on some jazz or whatever music relaxes you, (I love Nina Simone) light some candles, use a bath bomb if you like those.
- Write yourself a love note.
- Write 5 things you love about yourself
These are imperative to me because self-love & self-care is so important to our mental health and our quality of life. It is important to live our lives on our terms fully accepting and loving ourselves at the very core of who we are. And knowing how empowered we really can be when we just really invest in ourselves and our well being. Because let’s face it, we are so busy taking care of everything else for someone or everyone else and we forget that we also matter or we don’t do enough to also take care of ourselves and that can and most likely will eventually lead to resentment.

Self-Love is not selfish!
The people we love who love us, who we care for deserve for us to be in the best state of health and mind to care for them properly. And self-love and care just feel so good!
